GC Analysis of Primary Fatty Acid Amides in Animal Fat

چکیده

Waste animal fats represent a very attractive feedstock for biodiesel production. Primary fatty acid amides (PFAA) are class or bioactive signaling lipids found in mammalian organisms, as well several plant families. fat coming from rendering plants can obtain up to 2.0% PFAA. After the conversion process they pose risk final lead deposits storage tanks plug fuel filters. In this paper, method efficient separation and quantification of PFAAs waste is presented. The consists via solid phase extraction (SPE) using cartridges with 60 Å silica stationary phase. most effective eluents determined be hexane: ethyl acetate followed by chloroform: 2‐propanol. isolated identified quantified gas chromatography‐flame ionization detector (GC‐FID) nonadecanoic amide an internal standard. recovery lard matrix around 100%. Six real samples analyzed content leading concentrations between 0.04% 1%. Additionally, limits detection 0.002% 0.005%, respectively. Practical applications : developed tool characterization determination primary used starting material simple PFAA SPE GC‐FID analysis without derivatization also applied other biological samples, such tissue, plasma microbial oils.

Microsomal synthesis of fatty acid amides.

A microsomal system is described which catalyzes the formation of fatty acid amides of ethanolamine and of several pharmacologically active amines. Although the system has no dependance on external energy sources and has a high K, for the amine substrate, it has several characteristics which differ markedly from an amide hydrolytic system in the microsomes. A possible mechanism for the formatio...

Alterations of primary fatty acid amides in serum of patients with severe mental illness.

Cannabis consumption is a well known risk factor for the onset of schizophrenia and evidence accumulates that the endocannabinoid system may play a central role in the disease etiology. Using a clinical bioinformatics approach, we have previously found primary fatty acid amides, which are linked to the endocannabinoid system, to be elevated in drug naive schizophrenia and affective disorder. He...

Fatty Acid Amides of Ethanolamine in Mammalian Tissues.

While investigating the metabolism of ethanolamine by rat liver microsomes, we observed an incorporation of this amine into microsomal lipid that was dependent on the presence of a fatty acid as cosubstrate (1). It was shown that the product of the enzymatic reaction was the fatty acid amide of ethanolamine and that the reaction was synthetic, since little hydrolysis of added fatty acid amide c...
